Cottages with an indoor or outdoor jacuzzi

Not every jacuzzi is the same, and the distinction matters more than you might think. An indoor Jacuzzi is usually in the bathroom or a separate wellness area. That gives you a comfortable, temperature-resistant environment, regardless of the weather outside. An outdoor Jacuzzi is on the private patio or in the cottage garden. Popular in all seasons, but especially in fall and winter when it's cold outside. There are also cottages where the Jacuzzi is on a covered terrace, which combines both advantages.

Note the difference between a Jacuzzi, a hot tub and a whirlpool. A hot tub is often a freestanding tub made of plastic or wood. A whirlpool refers to the massage system inside. Many owners use these terms interchangeably, so when in doubt, always check the photos and the specific description of the property.

Most popular destinations for a cottage with jacuzzi

The Netherlands and Belgium both offer large and varied stays. Within the Netherlands, cottages with jacuzzi on the Veluwe are by far the most popular. The wooded landscape makes it a logical choice for those who want to relax completely. But Drenthe, Zeeland and Limburg are also popular destinations. For an overnight stay in Belgium seeks the many cottages with jacuzzi in the Ardennes are interesting. Especially for people from the south of the Netherlands or Flanders, the travel time is limited and the stays large. Many cottages there are secluded in nature, which adds to the tranquility. Don't want to drive far but still want a complete wellness stay? Then there are also an increasing number of options in urban edges of the Netherlands, ranging from designer villas to farm B&Bs.

Cottage with jacuzzi and sauna, fireplace or private terrace

A jacuzzi alone is enough for many people. But many of the stays combine it with additional facilities that significantly extend the stay. The most sought-after combination is jacuzzi plus sauna. If you are specifically looking for cottages with sauna, you will find a separate selection on Vipio. Many of these cottages also have a jacuzzi or hot tub, giving you the best of both. A fireplace is the second popular addition, especially in the fall and winter. Practically speaking, it provides warmth, but it also completes the feel of the stay. Some cottages are on a park or resort where the outdoor space is shared. If you want the Jacuzzi to yourself, without neighbors having a view, look specifically for private garden or fenced patio in the description.

Spend a romantic night or weekend away together

Several of our cottages with jacuzzi can also be booked for one night. This makes it more accessible for an impulsive romantic getaway or birthday surprise. Rates can vary widely, though. A simple cottage for two with an indoor jacuzzi typically starts around 100 to 150 euros per night. More exclusive options, with sauna, outdoor Jacuzzi and luxurious furnishings, quickly run to 250 to 400 euros per night. Season plays a big role. Weekends in October, November and the Christmas period are busy and more expensive. Midweek booking is cheaper in almost all cases, and you have more choice. Last-minute availability is certainly available, but the most popular cottages in prime locations are sometimes fully booked for weekends weeks in advance.

Holiday home or hotel room with jacuzzi

This is a trade-off many people make, and the answer depends on what you're looking for. A room or suite with jacuzzi gives you the benefits of service, breakfast and a central location. Ideal if you want to combine a city stay with a wellness element. A holiday home has other advantages. You have your own kitchen, a separate living area and, in most cases, a private terrace or garden. You are not dependent on hotel schedules for use of the Jacuzzi and usually have more space. For stays of two nights or more, a cottage usually gives more value for money. For one night and a preference for service, a hotel is sometimes more practical.

Wellness accommodations for couples, groups and with dogs

The vast majority of stays are geared toward couples, but you'll also find cottages that can accommodate 4, 6 or even 8 people. Think of a large holiday home with several bedrooms and an outdoor Jacuzzi on the terrace, ideal for a weekend away together or a girlfriends' getaway. Want to bring the dog along? This is possible in some of the cottages, but it is certainly not a given. Always filter on this explicitly when searching. If pets are allowed, it is always clearly indicated in the accommodation description.

Tips for booking accommodation with a jacuzzi

A few things to always check before you make your final booking.
  • Is the jacuzzi private? Some resorts or parks have a shared hot tub. This will be listed in the description, but it pays to confirm if it's not 100% clear.
  • Is the Jacuzzi always available, or on request? A small number of accommodations ask that you indicate in advance when you want to use the Jacuzzi, so that the water is brought up to temperature.
  • What is the cancellation policy? Luxury accommodations often have stricter policies than standard accommodations. Be sure to check this if you are booking far in advance or arranging a gift stay.
  • Are there any additional costs? Think tourist tax, cleaning fee or deposit. These are always listed on Vipio, but it's nice to factor them in when comparing prices.
