Is sleeping in a castle expensive?
Many people think that staying overnight in a castle is unaffordable and therefore only for rich people. However, this is not so bad. Of course you can find very luxurious palaces where you have to pay more than 1,000 euros per night, but at most castles, châteaux or manors the rates are much lower. For example, sometimes you can sleep in a real castle for as little as 100 to 150 euros per night. That's lower than the average price of a hotel room in Amsterdam.

For example, in the program "Chateau Meiland," television station SBS6 followed the Meiland family who transformed a chateau in France into a successful bed & breakfast.
