Colorful yurt in eco-camping in Groningen

This colourful yurt can be found at a small-scale and cosy eco-camping in the province of Groningen. This yurt is made of only natural materials. The yurt can be booked for a nice overnight stay with 2, 4 persons or even 6 persons.

The accommodation
In the yurt you will enjoy a unique overnight stay in a special place. This yurt has a diameter of 5.7 metres and is furnished with a large double bed and a cosy bunk bed. Each bed is equipped with an electric blanket. Cold nights become extra warm thanks to an original Norwegian wood stove (Jøtul 600). The yurt also has a sitting area with two armchairs and a private terrace with an impressive fireplace. From here you have a view of the pond and a vista through the forest to the fields with horses. For extra sleeping space, up to two extra beds can be added. This allows the yurt to accommodate up to 6 people. You can further use the composting toilets and special, spacious outdoor showers (with swamp filter!).

The eco-camping
Enjoy a relaxing holiday at this true eco-camping with a shared kitchen and a central campfire. The campground has a lovely hot tub that you can book in for a 3-hour session (on site to find a suitable time slot). The location is beautiful, among the trees with the whistling birds all around you. The site is on the outskirts of the city of Groningen. By bike you can be in the centre of Groningen within half an hour. At the reception you can also order breakfast, dinner, bike rental or a wheelbarrow of firewood for the campfire.

Cooking
The camp kitchen aka 'The Saloon' is pretty much the heart of the campsite. Breakfast is served here and dinner in the evening. During the day, people play games here, have a cup of tea or read a book. We also light the cosy (and famous) campfire here in the evening. Would you like to cook yourself? Of course you can. In addition to two refrigerators and two sinks, there is a stove, kettle and coffee maker. There are also plates, cups, glasses, cutlery and a dishwasher. And there are toilets nearby. Note: If you want to cook for yourself, don't forget to bring all the ingredients before you arrive here (there is no supermarket nearby).

Breakfast
Every morning between 08.00 and 11.00 a multicoloured breakfast is served including home-made sourdough bread, kaiser rolls, croissants, boiled eggs, milk and orange juice and a selection of sweet toppings (including local jams, sprinkles, honey) and various cheeses. By default, breakfast does not include meat. Breakfast can be booked as an optional extra.

The surroundings
This eco-campsite is located in the town of Engelbert, near the city of Groningen. With its historical charm, vibrant culture and friendly atmosphere, Groningen is one of the nicest cities in the Netherlands. The city features its beautiful canals, historical buildings and atmospheric squares. The Martini Tower, an iconic symbol, rises proudly above the city and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area. The cosy cafes, boutiques and art galleries add to the vibrancy of the city.
