A yurt with a wood-burning stove and all the luxuries of a hotel suite

In this luxurious yurt, you’ll find yourself surrounded by the natural beauty of the Achterhoek. Here, you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The three yurts at this small-scale glamping site are situated on the edge of a meadow and spaced far enough apart that you’ll enjoy plenty of privacy and hardly notice the other guests.

The Accommodation
The circular space is perfectly designed for a comfortable stay and has the feel of a hotel suite—but in the heart of nature. You’ll sleep in a comfortable double bed; there’s a sitting area by the wood-burning stove, plenty of closet space, and a compact kitchen with a dining table. The kitchen features a 4-burner gas stove, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, and running hot water.

A modern wood-burning stove stands against the wall, effectively heating the entire yurt and keeping it wonderfully warm and cozy even on the coldest winter days. The yurt is additionally insulated with two layers of wool felt, which is functional in both winter and summer. The amenities are adjusted according to the season. For example, during the cold season, there are extra-warm bedding, thick bathrobes, and electric supplemental heating. During the warm season, there are whisper-quiet fans, a mosquito net over the bed, and light, airy kimonos.

Adjacent to the yurt is a semicircular wooden terrace, bordered by a railing and a flower bed. The terrace features lounge chairs, a dining table, and a variety of potted plants. Willow trees line the edge of the meadow, providing some shade in the summer without obstructing the sweeping view. Right next to the yurt are the private restroom facilities, featuring a modern dry toilet and a wooden outdoor shower with hot water. From the deck, you have an unobstructed view of the meadow and the Achterhoek landscape, with its trees and groves. On clear evenings, you can admire the starry sky here. The deck thus serves as a lovely additional outdoor living space surrounded by nature.

Upon arrival, the bed will be made and ready for you. We provide towels, bathrobes, and an assortment of toiletries. The kitchen also has everything you need; coffee, tea, oil, herbs, spices, and the like are included as standard, and there is a well-stocked kitchen inventory. The wood-burning stove is ready to be lit; the wood basket is filled, and plenty of firewood and kindling are included. Behind the yurt is a shed with a supply of firewood and a spot where you can chop your own kindling.

A stay in a yurt is especially pleasant during the colder months: the circular space feels like a warm embrace. Inside, it’s comfortable and cozy, while outside you can fully experience nature and the season. The outdoor shower can also be used year-round; in winter, it’s a surprisingly pleasant experience.

From around March through October, you can rent a 2-in-1 barbecue/fire pit. Bicycles are also available for rent to explore the area. Since this depends partly on the weather, these extras can be requested during the week before your arrival.

The Surroundings
There’s plenty to see and do in the Achterhoek region. Choose a hiking or biking route starting from the property and enjoy nature. Or soak up some culture and history in the Hanseatic cities of Zutphen and Doesburg. There are numerous estates and castles to visit in the immediate vicinity. Or step back in time and visit idyllic Bronkhorst, the smallest town in the Netherlands. The IJssel River is within cycling distance, and you can take a ferry to cross over to the Veluwe or Veluwezoom. The area features farm shops with a wide selection of local products, restaurants, and a supermarket. There’s also a wellness center nearby.

You’ll be staying in the heart of a beautiful rural landscape. You’ll mainly hear the sounds of nature and, occasionally, sounds from the farmland. During the day, there may be occasional work taking place on the surrounding fields, which may be temporarily audible. At night, a serene calm prevails.

Public transportation to our location is limited. There is a central parking lot. From there, it’s a short walk along an unpaved path to the yurt. A handcart is available for your luggage.
