A break from it all, surrounded by nature in the Achterhoek. This luxurious yurt for two adults stands on its own at the edge of a meadow. The three yurts at this small-scale glamping site are spaced far apart. This gives you plenty of privacy, and you’ll hardly notice the other guests.

The Accommodation
The circular space is perfectly furnished for a comfortable stay. You’ll sleep in a comfortable double bed; there’s a sitting area by the wood-burning stove, closet space, and a compact kitchen with a dining table. The kitchen features a 4-burner gas stove, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, and running hot water. The modern Morsø wood-burning stove heats the entire yurt, keeping the interior warm and cozy even on the coldest winter days. The yurt is extra insulated with two layers of wool felt, which is functional in both winter and summer. Amenities are adjusted according to the season. For example, during the cold season, there are extra warm bedding, thick bathrobes, and electric supplemental heating. In the warm season, there are whisper-quiet fans, a mosquito net over the bed, and light kimonos.

Adjacent to the yurt is a cozy wooden deck with a dining table and lounge chairs. From the deck, you have an unobstructed view of the meadow and the Achterhoek countryside. Right next to the yurt are the private restroom facilities, featuring a modern dry toilet and a wooden outdoor shower with hot water. Next to the yurt are two old trees that provide some shade and shelter in the summer without obstructing the sweeping view. On clear evenings, you can admire the starry sky from the terrace. The terrace serves as a lovely outdoor living space—an additional place to relax with plenty of privacy.

Upon arrival, the bed will be made and ready for you. Bath and kitchen linens, as well as bathrobes, are provided. Personal care products, coffee, tea, oil, herbs, spices, and other practical essentials are also included as standard amenities. The wood-burning stove is ready to be lit; the wood basket is filled, and plenty of firewood and kindling are included. Behind the yurt is a shed with a supply of firewood and a spot where you can chop your own kindling.

A stay in a yurt is especially special during the colder months: the yurt feels like a warm coat. Inside, it’s cozy and comfortable, while outside you can fully experience nature. The outdoor shower can also be used almost year-round.

From around March through October, you can rent a 2-in-1 barbecue/fire pit. Bicycles are also available for rent to explore the surrounding area. Since this depends partly on the weather, these extras can be requested during the week before your arrival.

The Surroundings
Several hiking and biking trails start right from the property. The Achterhoek region is home to many estates, castles, and historical sites. The Hanseatic cities of Zutphen and Doesburg are a short drive away, as is the idyllic town of Bronkhorst, the smallest town in the Netherlands. The IJssel River is within cycling distance, and you can take a ferry to cross over to the Veluwe. In the area, you’ll find farm shops selling local products, restaurants, and a supermarket.

You’ll be staying in the heart of the countryside. You’ll mainly hear the sounds of nature and, occasionally, sounds from the farmland. Work may occasionally take place on the surrounding farmland. Public transportation to our location is limited. There is a central parking lot. From there, it’s a short walk along a dirt path to the yurt. A handcart is available for your luggage.
