The Mosel region is known for the production of Riesling, and you will notice this directly in the accommodations. Between May and October, the region is most lively. In autumn, the leaves of the vines turn color and the harvest begins, accompanied by many local festivals. Winter is a lot quieter, although the Christmas markets in the cities are popular. Most holiday homes near the Moselle for the period around September and October are often booked months in advance. So if you want to go in those months, it is wise to secure your place in time.
