Sleeping in the hayloft of an old coach house

This stately building is part of a 600-year-old estate in Drenthe with a beautiful Havezate (fortified house or castle) with a moat. This annexe is more than 100 years old and served as an annexe to the noble house to serve as a coach house and sleeping place for the coachman. For a number of years, a restaurant with bed and breakfast has been located in this coach house.

The room of this bed and breakfast can be found in the former hayloft of the coach house. The room boasts a beautiful view of the Havezate and the moat that surrounds it.

You will sleep on a double box spring. The room has a bathroom with shower, toilet and bath. You can use the refrigerator with minibar, kettle and coffee maker. After a day of walking in the area, you can relax on the 2 comfortable armchairs. Of course the bed and breakfast has free wifi.

The B&B is within walking distance of the charming village of Roden. The village is centrally located in the northern Netherlands. The cities of Groningen and Assen are both just a 20-minute drive from the bed and breakfast. You can enjoy walking or cycling in the surroundings.

Of course it is also possible to dine in the restaurant of the coach house.
