Formerly a prison, now a boutique hotel

This building used to be a prison and is now a beautiful four-star boutique hotel. The hotel is located just outside the centre of Alkmaar, at about a 20-minute walk from the main square. The former prison, where among others the Netherlands' most notorious criminal 'Willem Holleeder' was incarcerated, has been stylishly transformed into an attractive boutique hotel. The original stairs and cell doors of the prison create an authentic atmosphere.

This luxurious room is approximately 22m2 and has a twin bed and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. The room also offers facilities such as 'Chromecast', Wi-Fi, a flat-screen television and a 'Nespresso' machine. The hotel has ample parking space. There is also a bar and a restaurant where you can eat à la carte within our facility. When the weather is nice, you can even enjoy the outdoor terrace.

Besides the famous cheese market, Alkmaar has much more to offer. There is a wide range of stores and culture to discover. Visit, for example, the Stedelijk museum, the Beatles museum or the cheese museum. A cruise through the canals of Alkmaar is also possible. If you want to spend a day at sea, it is only a 10-minute drive to the coastal towns of Schoorl, Bergen aan Zee and Egmond aan Zee.
