The monumental harbour crane from 1957 has been completely renovated and transformed into a modern and comfortable flat for two people. As if sleeping in a renovated crane is not special and romantic enough, the tasteful interior of the flat makes your stay even more special. With a spectacular view of the IJ River, a luxurious bathroom and kitchen, this is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
From the large double bed, you have a fantastic panoramic view over the waterfront of Amsterdam. The bathroom has a designer bathtub and separate shower. The kitchen in the tap is fully equipped and in the living room you can enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine after a wonderful day.
Guests have free use of Wi-Fi throughout the flat and two bicycles to explore the surrounding neighbourhoods.
The crane is located on the KNSM Island. This peninsula in the IJ River has been transformed from an industrial port to a bustling residential area. Impressive modern architecture is interspersed with facades of the original buildings and warehouses, giving you a glimpse of the rich history of this area. There is always something to do, surrounded by countless colourful restaurants, funky art galleries and a multitude of original stores on the island, and many more in the surrounding area. The island itself is connected to the mainland by a dam and a beautifully designed bridge, making you a short bike ride away from the Maritime Museum and the Hortus Botanicus - one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world.
