Sleeping in an old prison chapel

Always been curious about what it's like to spend a night in a real prison? Then this suite is a unique and very innocent way to experience that. This beautiful hotel is located in the renovated prison in the heart of Almelo. The prison was built in 1926 and has been a hotel since 2006. The renovation was created to maintain the unique features of the prison architecture.

Sleeping in the historic prison is already an experience in itself, but this suite makes the stay even more special. You sleep in the old chapel / church of the prison. The prisoners came here, for example, to pray or to confess their sins.

The old chapel is now a beautifully designed suite where you can experience a wonderfully romantic night. In the middle of the room there is a large double bed. There is also a beautiful designer claw foot bathtub, a comfortable sofa, a large television and a private bathroom. Because of the stained-glass windows, you really have the feeling that you are sleeping in an old chapel.

The hotel is close to the train station and the centre of Almelo. Within the town you will find a theatre, a cinema and countless cosy restaurants and cafés.
