Nature Villa with a Pool in Bulgaria

Wake up to the sound of the cuckoo, step out into the garden, and take a deep breath as you gaze out over the wooded valley and the mountains in the distance. Here, all you can hear are the birds and the wind. That’s what it really means to get back to nature. This detached villa is situated in a quiet, sheltered spot atop a hill in the Bulgarian village of Katselovo and offers breathtaking views. With a spacious private garden and sleeping accommodations for up to 9 people, this is the perfect spot for families or groups of friends seeking peace and space.

The Accommodation
The villa has two floors and is fully equipped. On the ground floor, you’ll find the bright, open living area of 35 m² with a large U-shaped kitchen, a dining area for 10 people, and a sitting area with a comfortable sleeper sofa (suitable for two people). For entertainment, there’s a 42-inch TV with a Nintendo Wii. Thanks to the authentic, 70-centimeter-thick natural stone walls, the interior stays naturally cool, but air conditioning is also available for additional cooling or heating.

An outdoor staircase leads to the first floor. Here you’ll find three double bedrooms (all equipped with air conditioning) and a full bathroom. The master bedroom also has its own TV with a retro game console. The spacious landing features a play area for the children (with toy cars and building blocks) and an extra sofa bed. From the balcony by the front door, you’ll enjoy a beautiful view of the garden and the valley.

The large, green garden (1,550 m²) is filled with fruit and nut trees that provide plenty of shade, and you’re welcome to pick from them during the season. The centerpiece is the large, round swimming pool (5 meters in diameter, 1.35 m deep) with a solar-powered outdoor shower. Around the pool, you’ll find several hammocks and comfortable seating areas.

Outdoor living takes center stage here. Directly in front of the house is a terrace with dining tables under a pergola covered in grapevines. On the side, you’ll find a second terrace featuring both a stone wood/charcoal barbecue and a gas barbecue. On the west side of the property, there is another small covered pergola with a seating area offering a view of the forest, next to a convenient outdoor restroom with a sink. In the evening, you can gather around the fire pit for a cozy get-together.

Sports and games have also been taken into account. The garden features a multipurpose sports field for volleyball, badminton, soccer, and bocce. In addition, there is a sandbox (which can also serve as a toddler pool), a double swing, climbing rings, a climbing rope, a large 4-meter-wide trampoline, a basketball hoop, and a dartboard.

The Surroundings
The villa is located in a quiet, traditional Bulgarian village where life unfolds at a wonderfully leisurely pace. The village is surrounded by a rolling landscape of dense forests, expansive fields, and the Cherni Lom River, which winds its way through the valley here. It’s a fantastic area for long walks and bike rides through unspoiled nature, far away from mass tourism. The villa also serves as the perfect base for exploring the region’s rich history. Nearby lies the impressive Rusenski Lom Nature Park, known for its deep river gorges and limestone cliffs. In the mood for culture, shopping, or a terrace by the water? The charming city of Ruse—also known as Bulgaria’s “Little Vienna” because of its beautiful architecture—is located on the Danube River, just under an hour’s drive away.
