Holiday home (6p) on a special estate

Staying in this charming holiday home on the Hackforts Veenhuis estate in Twello feels like a little adventure. The estate is proudly run by young people with mild intellectual disabilities: the Heroes of Hackforts. Here, they’re not only taking steps toward independence, but also actively contributing to their community.

On the estate, the Heroes live in the large country house with support and run, among other things, a tea house/restaurant and this charming B&B. You’ll feel their genuine hospitality from the very first moment—here, you’re truly seen and welcomed.

The Accommodation
The guesthouse is a comfortable and stylish holiday home surrounded by nature. A white, characterful house offering plenty of privacy, a covered terrace, and parking right outside the door. Electric bikes can be booked separately. The house accommodates up to 6 people and consists of:

Double bedroom with private bathroom

Large covered terrace with lounge set and a view of the garden

Luxury bathroom with bathtub and walk-in shower
Separate toilet
Extra room with a pull-out bed

Outdoor lighting for long evenings

The kitchen is fully equipped with, among other things, a coffee machine, electric kettle, combination microwave, dishwasher, and cookware. The beds are made up with white hotel-quality linens, and both bathrooms are stocked with soft towels, toiletries, and a hair dryer.

Breakfast
You can have breakfast at the adjacent restaurant starting at 10 a.m. (not included in the price). You can also order a breakfast basket from the restaurant the day before; it will be delivered in the evening. You’ll pay 15 euros per person for this at the restaurant.

Experience
Here, you have everything you need to truly get away from it all: peace, space, and nature. Outside, you’ll mostly hear silence and birds—and sometimes a “Hero” will pass by and give you a friendly smile. The village of Twello is within walking distance, and Deventer is just around the corner, full of culture, restaurants, and a lively atmosphere. At the Heroes of Hackforts, there’s only one motto: nothing is a must, everything is allowed.
