Holiday home (6p) on a special estate

Staying in this charming holiday home on the Hackforts Veenhuis estate in Twello feels like a little adventure. The estate is proudly run by young people with mild intellectual disabilities: the Heroes of Hackforts. Here, they’re not only taking steps toward independence, but also actively contributing to their community.

On the estate, the Heroes live with support in the large country house and run, among other things, a tea house/restaurant and this charming B&B. You’ll feel their genuine hospitality from the very first moment—here, you’re truly seen and welcomed.

The Accommodation
The guesthouse is a comfortable and stylish holiday home surrounded by nature. A white, characterful house offering plenty of privacy, a covered terrace, and parking right outside the door. Electric bikes can be booked as an add-on. The house accommodates up to 6 people and consists of:

Large covered terrace with lounge set and a view of the garden

Luxury bathroom with bathtub and walk-in shower

The kitchen is fully equipped with, among other things, a coffee machine, electric kettle, combination microwave, dishwasher, and cookware. The beds are made up with white hotel-quality linens, and both bathrooms are stocked with soft towels, toiletries, and a hair dryer.

Breakfast
Start your first morning relaxed and well taken care of! After booking, you can let the host know if you’d like breakfast items in the fridge for a delicious breakfast the next morning. That way, you can wake up at your own pace and enjoy a tasty breakfast in the comfort of your own accommodations. Prefer to head out for a bit of socializing? The tea house opens its doors for you at 10:00 a.m. From Tuesday through Sunday, you’re welcome to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and, for example, a hearty fried egg sandwich.

Experience
Here, you have everything you need to truly get away from it all: peace, space, and nature. Outside, you’ll hear mostly silence and birds—and sometimes a “Hero” will pass by and give you a friendly smile. The village of Twello is within walking distance, and Deventer is just around the corner, full of culture, restaurants, and a lively atmosphere. At the Heroes of Hackforts, there’s only one motto: nothing is a must, everything is allowed.
