Holiday home with pool in a quiet place

Set in unspoilt countryside in the heart of Puglia, Trulli Kailia is a charming cottage, consisting of two lamia which have been sensitively combined. It offers a fabulous escape for a family or friends who want to explore this lesser-known part of Italy.

The house sleeps 5 people and has been renovated in an attractive, contemporary style. The outdoor spaces are as important as the interiors. There are two shaded terraces, one at the front of the house, furnished with two sofas and a dining table for meals al fresco. The terrace at the back of the house leads to the steps up to a beautiful private swimming pool. Here there are sun loungers where guests can relax after a refreshing swim.

The interior rooms, with attractive vaulted stone ceilings, are divided between the 2 lamia. The main lamia consists of a stylish living room with a contemporary sofa and elegant chaise longue, plus a TV. French windows lead back out to the terrace. The open-plan kitchen is separated from the seating area by a small breakfast bar. The industrial-style kitchen is equipped with an induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and Nespresso machine.

Sleeping
Bedroom 1: The master bedroom is in the second lamia and has a double bed, hanging space, en suite bathroom and doors leading out to the terrace.
Bedroom 2: A second spacious bedroom furnished with a double bed, hanging space and an en suite bathroom.
Extra: The sofa in the living room converts into a comfortable single bed.

Bathrooms
Both en suite bathrooms are equipped with a shower, basin and WC.

Location
The house is in the Val d’Itria, a valley famous for its olive oil and trulli, [small, conical houses only found in this part of Italy]. Many of Puglia’s most beautiful sites are within easy reach. One of the closest towns is Martina Franca (15 minutes) which is a stunning combination of simple whitewashed local houses, palaces and magnificent Baroque architecture. The town Alberobello (30 minutes) looks like something from a fairytale. It is a town of trulli and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

For more sporty guests, the house is on the Val d’Itria cycle route which runs the length of the valley along the route of an ancient aqueduct. Local tours can be arranged for a day exploring the countryside.

For guests keen to get to the coast, some of the most striking beaches in Italy, Lama Monachile, Polignano a Mare are about 1 hour away.

The closest airport is at Bari, a 1 hour 25-minute drive from the house. Please note that the pool is open from the 30th of March 2024 to the 31st of October 2024 A damage deposit of 1000EUR has to be paid locally for groups under 21.
