Grass-roofed waterfront home in Groningen

This unique vacation home is located right on the Reitdiep in Groningen. The house has a grass roof and a unique design with large windows. Because of this you can enjoy the beautiful views and the house has a very bright appearance. You can enjoy the beautiful weather from your own jetty, on the terrace and in your spacious garden.

The vacation home
This unique holiday home is about 100m2 and can accommodate up to 6 people. There is underfloor heating throughout the house and in the living room there is an atmospheric fireplace hanging on the wall. The living room has a comfortable corner sofa, a sofa bed and two armchairs. From the easy chair, you have a beautiful view over the garden, towards the Reitdiep and the national landscape Middag Humsterland. In the house there are books, a TV, various games and a sound system for CDs or LPs. From the living room, you can access the private terrace through the French doors. The terrace is equipped with a garden set. On cold evenings you can use the cast-iron terrace stove and enjoy the many stars to the fullest. The kitchen has a gas hob with four burners, a wok burner and a combination microwave. Of course, the kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, various spices, oils, coffee, tea and convenient kitchen appliances including a Nespresso machine. The house has 3 bedrooms. The first bedroom is at the front of the house and has a large glass front. It contains a double bed (140 x 200) with a beautiful view. The 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds. The last bedroom has a large double bed (180 x 210) and is further equipped with a large closet. Each bedroom has storage space for vacation items. The bathroom is nice and spacious with a large sink, bathtub and a wonderful separate shower. It is also possible to do laundry. There is a drying rack to dry laundry. Next to the bathroom is a separate toilet.

The grass roof house is located on the water. This makes it possible to bring your own boat and more it at the berth that belongs to the house. (Max. draft approx. 1 metre). At the house it is possible to park 2 cars.

Throughout the house is an excellent internet connection via fibreglass and wifi.

Everything is on one level without thresholds, making it also suitable for people with mobility problems.


The area
Within walking distance you can eat delicious yet inexpensive food at the small Overdaips restaurant. Be sure to reserve a place, because it is often fully booked. At the bakery in Ezinge, you can get fresh bread. Opposite the bakery is a small supermarket for forgotten groceries. The nearby most beautiful village of the Netherlands (2021) Winsum has more amenities and nice boutiques. The city of Groningen is 20 minutes away by car. The house is located on the Reitdiep. A beautiful river in which you can swim, sail and fish.
