Wooden forest house with fireplace in Germany

This vacation home in Germany is in an idyllic and quiet location right on the trout river Tettau at the edge of the Thuringian Forest and Upper Franconia. The vacation home can accommodate a total of 1-3 guests.

The vacation home
A total of about 50 m² of living space is available. The large living room (> 30 m²) has large windows facing south, the clear height there at the visible ridge beam is almost 4 meters and gives the guest a generous sense of space. Through the large corner view window, you have a view of the garden. The living room with its wood-burning stove is the heart of the house. In the cold season, the stove provides pleasant warmth and a cosy atmosphere for evenings. On the hearth are slate elements and the outside is lined with clay in two layers, creating a pleasant radiant heat. Once heated in the morning, there is pleasant warmth in the house all day, even in the cold season with the fireplace.

The wooden and architectural house has a fully equipped kitchenette, a bedroom with a double bed (1.80 m) and a bathroom with a shower and underfloor heating. In the living room there is a wide sofa bed for a possible third person. You heat the basic fireplace yourself, an instruction for correct firing will be given to you when you receive the key. You will also find a short description for proper heating in the house folder. The fully equipped kitchenette in the living room has an induction hob, a dishwasher and a fridge freezer and everything you need to prepare meals.

The adjacent bedroom has a large double bed (2.00 x 1.80 m). The bathroom has a walk-in shower, sink, WC, towel radiator and a slate floor with underfloor heating. The terrace of about 15 m² runs along the entire south facade of the house. You enter the house through the terrace and on hot summer days you can enjoy the view of the garden, the river and the mountains that surround the house.

Surroundings
This nature cottage can be found in the state of Thuringia. This area, in the middle of Germany, is known, among other things, for its many natural parks and the various cultural attractions found in its cities. You will find a varied landscape with mountains, streams, rivers, meadows and castles. With more than 15,000 kilometers of hiking and biking trails, you will discover not only the nature and history of this region, but also the cultural cities such as Eisenach, Erfurt, Weimar and Arnstadt.
