Private island with tiny house

Imagine: your own private island in the Vinkeveense Plassen. Accessible only by boat, with miles of views over the lakes, where you wake up in the morning to the chirping of ducks and the rustling of the wind. Unique! The little island is at the head of a series of islets. From the island, you have an unobstructed view over the lakes.

In summer weather, you start the day with a dive into the water and swim around the island. Also nice: take a seat on the spacious jetty for a cup of coffee in the morning sun or for a yoga session. A private yoga lesson on the jetty by an experienced local teacher can be booked additionally. Pick fresh herbs from the garden, marvel at the crystal-clear water, or cast a fishing line. Or enjoy a soak in the wood-fired hot tub while enjoying the phenomenal view over the lakes. Anything is possible. Here you have plenty of privacy, are in the middle of nature, and feel like you are in Scandinavia. And that right in the middle of the Randstad! Create memories.

The Tiny House
On the island, there is a tiny house (max 4 people) that you can book year-round for a delightful overnight stay. Through the living room with an open kitchen, you enter the bedroom, where a double bed is situated. From the bed, you overlook the island and the waters. You've never woken up to such a unique view before! From the bedroom, you enter the bathroom. The ceiling isn't high, but the bathroom is quite spacious and equipped with a warm shower, a toilet (sustainably flushed with water from the lakes) and a designer sink with both cold and hot running water. NOTE: During the winter months (November to March), there is a chance that there will be no running water. The owners then provide bottled drinking water and jerrycans of fresh washing water. The toilet still flushes normally. There is a kitchen with a kitchenette, sink, a refrigerator, and a gas stove. Everything you need (olive oil, spices, soap, etc.) is available; you only need to bring your own groceries. From the kitchen window, you look out over the water and the passing boats. The kitchen table (a sturdy, original army table) measures 1.80 x 0.90 meters. Need to relax? You can do so on the bench, which is a sofa bed. Two (smaller) children or one adult can sleep here. The bench is 1.20 meters wide. For a fourth person, a pallet bed is added. Consider it a form of quite luxurious and comfortable (but special!) camping. If it's rainy weather, the two silver storage chests offer a solution. They are filled with... games! In colder weather, cozy up by the wood stove. Outside, there are various nice seating areas with fire pits. Sheltered under the cabin, on the spacious jetty with miles of views, at the beach bar, or by the kitchen window. Fancy a cappuccino? New is a fantastic kitchen, an original Braaimaster, with cast iron pans. Bake your own pizza, grill a fish, or make one-pot dishes on this wood-fired outdoor kitchen that originated in South Africa. A glass of wine, and enjoy!

Additionally, there is a nice salon boat with windows all around. This allows you a 360-degree view over the lakes! The salon boat has four single sleeping places. The boat is permanently moored to the island and looks very stylish. It is a wonderful place to sleep but also to sit comfortably, for example when the weather is a bit rainy.

To get to the island, you will be taken to and from the island by the landlord with a large boat. Optionally, you can book a lifeboat (max. 8 people) on site for €50 per day. Feel like stand-up paddling? You can also rent two SUPs; ask about the options upon arrival.

The Vinkeveense Plassen is a natural and water sports area located south of Amsterdam and north of Utrecht. They were formed through the extraction of peat. The current elongated islands are known as legakkers. In the past, they were used as drying fields for the still wet peat. Now, 80% of these legakkers and small islands are owned by private individuals who use the islands as a recreational destination. The Vinkeveense Plassen is a popular water sports area. It’s not surprising, as you can swim, sail, paddleboard, dive, and of course fish there. Along the lakes, there are many restaurants and cafés. Adjacent is the Botshol nature reserve, where you can enjoy beautiful walks or canoeing. The Vinkeveense Plassen is a unique area that you really must discover!
