About this accommodation
On the forelands of the river Waal lies this centuries-old fortress. The characteristic fort was once part of the New Dutch Waterline - a long line of defence of about 85 kilometres long that had to protect the Netherlands against their enemies. Nowadays, you can stay in the fortress for a special overnight stay.
This modernly furnished lodge is very luxurious and has a spacious living room, a fully equipped modern kitchen (Poggenpohl) and two bedrooms with a double bed. The bedrooms are on the 1st floor as well as a luxurious bathroom overlooking the floodplains. An extra bed can be placed for a fifth person if necessary. On the terrace of the room is a lovely hot tub. This hot tub is just for you and is included in the price.
The fort also has a restaurant where you can go for lunch or dinner. Here is also a terrace where the many tourists make themselves comfortable.
The fortress is also a very suitable base for beautiful walking and cycling tours. If you prefer shopping, the cities of Utrecht, Rotterdam and Den Bosch are only 20 kilometres away. Would you rather seek out more of the nature? Then pay a visit to National Park De Biesbosch.
On arrival / departure, a tourist tax of €1.10 per person per night must be paid.
