B&B on a historic ship in Amsterdam

In the former sailors' quarters of this characteristic ship, a hospitable B&B for 2 people has been established. The beautifully converted barge can be found on a floating jetty in Amsterdam-IJburg, just outside the city. Here in 2014 a jetty was built for sailing houseboats, on which already thirty historic ships are moored. Do you like peace and quiet, beautiful views, water, the sounds of water birds but like having the city nearby? Then this is a fantastic place to stay!

The ship was built in Groningen in 1951 and served as a grain ship until 2013. In 2016 the ship was converted into a sailing living ship. Your stay is in the 'fore-cabin' in a modernized ship's berth that is equipped with all conveniences and gives you the ultimate maritime experience. You have access to a spacious double bed, a bathroom with a shower and toilet, Wi-Fi, a fridge, television, coffee maker and kettle. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful view on your own terrace. Breakfast is included.

The name vooronder says it all, this accommodation is located "under" the gangway. Through a hatch at the front of the deck, you will enter the guesthouse via a spiral staircase. You therefore need to have good legs, not only on board but also on the jetty.

Unlike in the center of Amsterdam, you can easily park at the bed and breakfast and there is a closed bicycle parking. By car you are in the center of Amsterdam within fifteen minutes.
