Family holiday home (sleeps 8) on the edge of the forest

This charming, detached holiday home for 8 people offers a comfortable and secluded retreat in the heart of nature in the beautiful province of Drenthe. Located in a small-scale vacation park on the edge of the woods, you’ll enjoy plenty of peace, privacy, and space here. The combination of the spacious surrounding garden, a cozy wood-burning stove, and excellent amenities for the whole family makes this an ideal base for a relaxing stay with family or friends.

The Accommodation
The house is detached and has two stories. The cozy living area downstairs has a warm atmosphere and features a comfortable sitting area with a wood-burning stove. For entertainment on a cozy evening, there’s a jukebox, various board games, toys, and arts-and-crafts supplies for the children. The spacious open kitchen and dining area offer all the amenities needed for cooking and dining together. On the ground floor, there is one bedroom with a double box-spring bed (160x200 cm) and the bathroom. On the first floor are the remaining bedrooms, equipped with two double box-spring beds (160x200 cm) and two single box-spring beds (90x200 cm), as well as a separate second restroom.

Outside is a large, green garden with several seating areas, a spacious garden table, and a barbecue. Thanks to its sheltered location, you can enjoy the afternoon and evening sun in complete privacy. The property offers private parking for 2 cars (additional cars can park within walking distance), and the property is entirely pet-free.

The Vacation Park
The vacation park is quietly situated on the Drentse Hondsrug, surrounded by vast forests. Children will have plenty of fun playing on the various playground equipment and a pirate climbing tower. You can also play a game of bocce or Kubb on the grounds. At the Grand Café, you can sit down for a meal or a quick bite, with a view of the playground right outside. Bicycles and e-bikes are also available for rent at the park to explore the region.

The Surroundings
From the park, you can walk or bike straight into the forests of the Gieten-Borger Forest District. A short distance away is the recreational lake 't Nije Hemelriek, known for its clear water and sandy beach. Active travelers will find dozens of kilometers of hiking, biking, and mountain biking trails in the immediate vicinity. Trips to the Boomkroonpad, the Hunebedcentrum in Borger, the historical museum village of Orvelte, the DX Adventure Park water park, and WILDLANDS Adventure Zoo in Emmen are also within easy reach.
