Luxury 4-person lodge with 2 bathrooms and a spa

Would you like to get away from it all with your family or another couple, surrounded by nature? This detached lodge for 2 to 4 people is nestled among the trees in the lush countryside of Markelo in the province of Overijssel. You’ll have plenty of space all to yourself here, with the added bonus of a lovely outdoor hot tub on the terrace. A pleasant, peaceful spot in Twente to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

The Accommodation
This detached lodge features a bright, modern interior decorated in calm, natural colors. The large windows offer beautiful views of the surrounding greenery from every angle. The living area includes an open kitchen fully equipped with all the appliances you’ll need to cook your own meals. After dinner, you can settle right into the couch in the sitting area for a movie or a game. There are two spacious bedrooms with comfortable double beds. Very convenient—both rooms have their own adjoining bathroom.

Outside on the terrace, the hot tub is already waiting for you. It’s wonderfully peaceful here among the trees, so you can enjoy it at any time of day. Next to the lodge, you’ll find your own parking spot, so there’s no need to lug your bags around.

The Park
If you have an electric car, you can charge it in the parking lot at the park’s entrance. There you’ll also find the reception building. The staff will be happy to help you with any questions, bike rentals, or useful tips about the surrounding area. As a guest, you also have free access to the facilities on the adjacent estate. You can swim in the outdoor pool (open from Ascension Day through September 1), the kids can play in the playground, and you can easily grab lunch or dinner at the bistro. There is also a laundry room available there.

The Surroundings
From the park, you can easily walk or bike right into the Twente countryside. The area is known for its beautiful landscape featuring hedgerows and old farmhouses. You can go on some great hikes here, for example to the top of the Markelose Berg or across the heath and through the forests of the Holterberg (De Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park). Fancy a drink on a terrace or an afternoon of shopping? The historical Hanseatic cities of Deventer and Zutphen are nearby and are very charming with their old streets and lovely shops. Near the park, you’ll also find plenty of great places to eat out, ranging from a casual bistro in the woods to restaurants that serve dishes made with local ingredients.
