"EL GRILLO" - an old farmhouse - is situated in an area of orchards in the old part of NIJAR, 20 km from ALMERIA airport and 20-30 km from the unspoilt beaches of CABO DE GATA-NIJAR NATURAL PARK, in the southeast of ANDALUCIA. It is equipped for a maximum of 6 people. There are 3 bedrooms, several terraces and a pool (balsa). The shady "patio" is in a beautyful garden.
Although only 5 minutes walking distance away from the main square, shops and restaurants, the house lies in an area of orchards, giving it a peaceful, rural atmosphere. The shady "patio", reached from the kitchen, is in a beautiful garden full of flowers, fruit and citrus trees and palms. The house, approximately 200 years old, is typical of the traditional houses of the area, with thick walls and delightful features. It is equipped for a maximum of 6 people. There is a living room, kitchen, workroom, 2 double bedrooms and 1 single with 2 separate beds, 2 bathrooms and terraces. The facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, T.V. with local channels, DVD player and internet WIFI. In winter the house is heated by a wood burning stove and a large fireplace. From June until September, you can enjoy swimming in the "balsa". This is a water reservoir, normally used for irrigating the land but can be adapted for use as a swimming pool. In these months, the water is specially treated to offer you sparkling, clean water.

Níjar is situated in the province of Almería, in the south east of Andalucía. It is easily reached from all directions. The exit 479 from the Murcia-Almeria motorway A7 is 4 km from the village.
The airport is 15 minutes away, between Níjar and Almería. From the airport Alicante to Nijar it takes about 2h30, Malaga - Nijar 3 h. We strongly recommend you to hire a car or motorbike as there is hardly any public transport.
