Nice dome tent in nature and on the waterfront

For those who love camping but don’t want to compromise on comfort, this dome in the province of Drenthe offers the perfect solution. Located right on the water and surrounded by woods, this accommodation provides a comfortable and stylish stay. From the dome, you’ll enjoy a stunning view of the water, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the natural surroundings. In addition, the outdoor area offers plenty of privacy, so you can enjoy nature, each other’s company, and the beautiful weather in complete tranquility.

The dome
This dome, situated on a charming little lake, offers a stunning view of the water. Surrounded by woods, you’ll find yourself truly in the heart of nature here. The dome is spacious and tastefully decorated with a mix of new and vintage furniture. Inside, you’ll find two single futons, comfortable rocking loungers, remote-controlled heating, a mini-fridge, a toaster, and everything you need for an unforgettable stay in nature. Hop into your own private boat and row across the lake, or prepare a delicious meal in your own outdoor kitchen. There’s also an outdoor fire pit where you can spend hours at night enjoying the fire or the starry sky.

For restroom facilities, you can visit one of the four locations, where you’ll find, among other things, a lovely hot shower.

There is no Wi-Fi at the accommodation. However, there is one spot on the estate where Wi-Fi is available. You can park your car at the entrance to the property in the parking lot.

The Campground
This is a 20-hectare estate with a nature campground in Papenvoort, Drenthe. The owners strive to preserve the forest in a responsible manner, with great respect and love for nature. On the grounds is a glacial lake covering over 1.5 hectares. There are no pike in it, so you can swim there safely. It is an ancient pingo with two natural springs. In the past, peat was extracted from the lake to heat the buildings of the municipality of Rolde. Fortunately, the deeper layer of loam remains intact. In and around the water, you’ll find water lilies and cattails among the flora, and salamanders, frogs, newts, and fish among the fauna. Fishing is permitted here. During your stay, you can enjoy a delicious breakfast in the morning with fresh rolls and spreads (a vegan breakfast is also available). There is also a sauna with a view of the lake, which you can book through the host. The beautiful surroundings make for wonderful bike rides.

The Surroundings
The estate is located in the least densely populated part of the Netherlands: the triangle between Rolde, Borger, and Gieten. It’s an incredibly beautiful, wooded area with many swimming lakes, such as the Nije Hemelriek, 4.5 kilometers away near Gasselte. Drentsche Aa National Park is also nearby, as is Assen, the capital of the province of Drenthe. The property is situated in the middle of the Hondsrug, a ridge that stretches from Emmen to the city of Groningen. The Hondsrug, together with part of the surrounding area, forms the only Geopark in the Netherlands. The area consists of coniferous and deciduous forests, small ponds, meadows, picturesque villages on es, streams, burial mounds, drifting sands, impressive beech avenues, heathlands, and farmlands, and is ideal for nature lovers who appreciate peace and open spaces.
