Luxury holiday home in a quiet area

Set on the edge of the Selva di Fasano (Forest of Fasano), on a low hillside with views over the Apulian countryside to the Adriatic Sea, this extraordinary complex of an ancient trullo and a restored lamia, is really a perfect holiday destination.

This luxurious property, which sleeps 7, manages to combine traditional architecture with contemporary touches and has been sensitively restored. There are extensive terraces, green lawns with ancient olive trees and a rooftop hydromassage pool.

In the lamia, guests can enjoy the spacious living/dining room with a large sofa, hand-crafted dining table and 7 chairs, large flatscreen TV, music stereo and a charcoal stove. The sunny kitchen is through a wide arch and is decorated with beautiful, hand-painted majolica tiles. It is well-equipped with a cooker hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, American fridge & freezer and coffee machine, plus a small breakfast bar for coffee and snacks.

There are two stylish bedrooms in the lamia with a shared bathroom, and a third bedroom, in an adjacent trullo, with an en suite bathroom and a private sitting room.

The private gardens have been carefully arranged with a series of sitting areas for outdoor dining. There is a barbecue with a wood-burning oven, sink and stoneworking surfaces. For more active guests there is a fitness area, with table tennis and table football. Less active guests will enjoy the hammocks!

The villa has a lower part (tavern) reserved for the owner.

Sleeping
Bedroom 1: The stunning master bedroom is in a separate trullo, built of pale local cut stone. It has a double bed, a Smart TV, a private sitting area with a wood-burning stove, a chest of drawers, a desk and chair plus an en suite bathroom.
Bedroom 2: This charming bedroom, in the lamia, has 2 single beds, a Smart TV and a colourful wardrobe.
Bedroom 3: Also in the lamia, this bedroom has an elegant double bed, a Smart TV and a pretty antique chest of drawers.
Extra: The sofa in the living room converts into a comfortable double bed with a supplement of € 100.00 to be requested when booking

Location
Although this property is set in quiet countryside, there is plenty to do and see close by. It is just 50 minutes south of Bari, the capital of Puglia and 50 minutes northwest of Brindisi. As both cities are amongst the busiest ports in Italy, neither is known as a tourist centre, so visitors get a sense of “real” Puglia. This makes them both fascinating destinations for a day trip.

Monopoli (20 minutes drive) is a smaller town but packed with things to see and do. Founded around 500BC, Monopoli’s long history is there to see in its winding streets and medieval harbour. Tuesday is market day (closes 1 pm), so head to Piazza Falcone e Borsellino to enjoy the freshest local produce and get inspired to cook at home.

The property is only 20 minutes from the coast and there are many glorious beaches for guests to enjoy. One of the most striking beaches in Italy, Lama Monachile, Polignano a Mare (26 minutes). The white sandy beach is small but the water is clear and a great place for snorkelling. It is also the home of the annual World Cliff Diving Championship.

For children (and adults) in search of even more excitement, there is the Aquapark Egnazia (18 minutes) with a variety of rides. There are two golf courses close by Egnathia Golf Club (18 minutes) and San Domenico Golf Club just next door (20 minutes)

The closest airports are Bari, a 1-hour drive, and Aeroporto del Salento, Brindisi, which is just 45 minutes from the house. Please note that the pool is open from the 1st of May 2024 to the 31st of October 2024 A damage deposit of 1000EUR has to be paid locally for groups under 21.
