The charming cottage is located in Bourgondy (Nievre) in a small hamlet (5 houses), in Villapourcon. The nearest towns are Luzy at 20 km and Moulins Engilbert at 18 km.
Surroundings of this accommodation:
At 100 m. from the house a small water reservoir is located, which can be walked around in 20 minutes. Excellent hiking trails pass the house nearby. More remote activities can be further away: fishing, canoeing, river swimming, tennis, horse-riding. The celtic town Bibracte on the Mont Beuvray from 100 BC with interesting museum can be found at 10 minutes drive.The attractive town of Autun, was 2000 years ago one of the most important cities in the Roman Gaul. It has still 6 km of rampants, two theatres, a Roman theatre and a system of aquaducts. Many buildings in the city centre date from the 17th and 18th centuries, the cathedrale St. Lazare is from the 12th century. (Autun is at 35 km).Beaune (85 km) is a small old town, most intersting is the Hospices de Beaune a medieval hospital (founded in 1143).The town of Chateau Chinon is known for having had Francois Mitterand as its mayor and its costume museum and its Musee du Septenat, which displays official presents given to Mitterand during his two seven year terms as president of France) (found at 20km) Moulin Engilbert (18 km)Nevers (65 km) is located at the river Loire. It has the Ducal Palace, the cathedral Saint Cyr and the lovely Roman church of St Etienne from the 11 th century. The Municipal Museum has some interesting objects.
