Nature cottage in the Ardennes

This wooden holiday home has a beautiful location in the vast forests of the Belgian Ardennes. The cottage is part of a small vacation park in a forest of 12ha. Peace and space are central in this park and with a little luck you will see a deer, squirrel or wild boar wandering through the park. All year round, this is a perfect destination for nature lovers.

The holiday home
The house is compact, but cleverly furnished so you enjoy all the luxuries. The cottage features a living room with large windows facing nature so you won't be bothered by the sight of passersby. The high living space gives a very pleasant feeling, with a fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher, induction hob and combi oven). The dining room is equipped with a massive slide-in table, which allows it to be adapted as a dining area for 6 people, or lounge area for an aperitif or a cosy TV evening. The lounge box is part of this space and is ideal for relaxing, or reading a book. The shower room has a sink and toilet. The cottage has a double bed (connected to the living room), a double bed on the mezzanine and a bedroom with bunk beds. This makes the accommodation suitable for max 4 adults and 2 children.

The large terrace with a sliding window is partly covered, making it pleasant to enjoy even in the off-season. The house is eco-friendly with straw insulation, heat pump and heat-recovery ventilation. One pet is also allowed. Free wifi.

The park and its surroundings
The vacation park is located in the Viroin-Hermeton nature reserve in the Belgian Ardennes. The vacation park has a common room with table tennis, badminton and volleyball facilities. Hiking maps are available at the reception desk and it is possible to rent films. There is no restaurant at the vacation park, but in the centre of Oignies (just over 1 km away) you will find several dining options. The vast forests are ideal for beautiful cycling and hiking tours. You can also go kayaking, fishing and cross-country skiing in the area in winter. The vacation park is also close to the city of Charleroi. Here you can store and visit numerous attractions. Within an hour you are in the beautiful area of Dinant, where you can take a boat trip on the River Lesse or visit the famous Caves of Han.
