Spend the night in a unique chapel (church)

This "glass" chapel in Belgium is truly a unique place in the world. It is the last witness of an industrial glass past in the neighbouring village where in the golden age (1925/1935) more than 1,000 workers worked in the glass factory of Verreries de Fauquez. During World War I, a very special glass called Marbrite was invented here. It is a tinted and opaque glass and was exported to all over the world starting in 1925. The Glass Chapel was the last building built in 1930. It served both as a house of worship and as a showroom for potential customers. Today, the chapel is a special place to spend the night!

The church has been beautifully restored and also houses a small museum where more than 300 pieces from the production of Verreries de Fauquez have been collected. Nearby, nature is very present and there is much to see in this quiet region, sheltered from mass tourism, yet only about 30 km from Brussels.

The accommodation
The church can be booked for an overnight stay with 2 to 6 people. So you can book the church for a romantic overnight stay, a cosy getaway with friends or for a unique experience with the family. The church has 3 bedrooms, 2 of which have a double bed and one bedroom with a bunk bed. The holiday home has a kitchen including a refrigerator, stove, an oven and a microwave. The living room is furnished with a seating area with a fireplace, TV and a dining area. There is 1 bathroom with a shower and a bath. After a day of hiking or fishing, you can relax in the garden. The holiday home also features a barbecue. Furthermore, you have free use of Wi-Fi and private parking.

The surroundings
The Glass Chapel is located in an area called "Les Petites Ardennes". Between valleys, forests and small villages. The region is perfect for lovers of nature, walks or bike rides. The Ronquières flea market that takes place every Saturday and Sunday is a must. The accommodation is also close to Waterloo and its famous battlefield, La Louvière. If you want to visit a nice city, with many museums, nice terraces, countless stores and good restaurants then Brussels (at 30km) is the place to be.
