Charming captain's cabin on historic ship

We welcome you on board for a unique stay in the captain's cabin of this historic ship. Once an active cargo ship that transported goods and supplies on the Dutch waterways, the ship now enjoys its well-deserved retirement in IJburg, the newest district of Amsterdam.

The room
This is an authentic and charming captain's cabin with a queen-size bed (140x200) and storage space for luggage and clothing. It includes a new bathroom with a shower, toilet, sink, shampoo and conditioner, hairdryer and bathrobes, as well as a living room with a dining table for 2, sofa, TV, Bose speakers, board games, and a small kitchen with a refrigerator, coffee machine, and kettle (no cooking facilities). The captain's cabin has a beautiful view. There is a shared terrace, and you also have the possibility to sleep on the terrace above the captain's cabin.

Please note that the boat is not suitable for children. The room is 25m2 and the ceiling is about 2m high and must be accessed by stairs. There are also steps inside the accommodation. Depending on the weather and wind conditions, the boat may sway a little, which brings some characteristic sounds.

Breakfast
Breakfast in this bed and breakfast is included in the price. Breakfast includes cappuccino or coffee/tea, juice, and a selection of bread from the local bakery with butter and jam or fresh fruit, cereal, and yogurt.

The owners of the B&B live on the same boat, but in a separate room with their own entrance. So, in this bed and breakfast, you will stay in absolute privacy.

Surroundings
IJburg is a charming, safe, and above all residential neighborhood that is particularly popular among lovers of modern architecture and urbanism. It is also a perfect place for water sports enthusiasts, with opportunities for kayaking, hiking, cycling, windsurfing, and paddleboarding. You can also disembark to swim or take a walk along the promenade to the IJburg beach, which is 2 km away. In total, there are two small local beaches and a beach club that provide a proper holiday feel in the summer months. In the area, there are also several cafes, restaurants, and bars where you can enjoy a drink in peace. During your stay, you will wake up to the tranquility of the water, while only a 15-minute tram ride will take you to the center of Amsterdam with its beautiful canals and great cultural offerings. There are also numerous hiking opportunities nearby if you prefer to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
