Staying overnight in an old courthouse

This extraordinary building in Heerenveen (Friesland) has a rich history dating back to the year 1632. Over the years, the building has been used as a residence, town hall, tax office and between 1951 and 1963 as a district court, among other things. Since 2017, a boutique hotel has been located on the top floor of the beautiful building. On the first floor you will find a grand café.

This spacious room features a king-size bed and is equipped with both a freestanding bathtub and a lovely double rain shower. Upon arrival, you will find delicious soap products from Rituals and soft towels. The room is also equipped with a sustainable climate system, so you can adjust the temperature to your liking. The flat screen TV has an extensive TV package. The specially designed box spring beds have high-quality cold foam mattresses for a healthy night's sleep. The boutique hotel is located in the centre of Heerenveen. Discover the many nice stores in town or the popular museum Belvédère. Would you like to discover nature? Then go for a walk in the forest near Oranjewoud. This 'royal' forest lies to the east of Heerenveen and consists of a collection of former country estates with long avenues, parks with generous oaks and beeches, a handful of remaining country houses, ponds and small meadows between the forests.
