Special stay in an old prison

This former prison in Alkmaar has recently been converted into a beautiful boutique hotel. The old cells where, among others, the notorious criminals of the like of Willem Holleeder, Stanley Hillis and master swindler Ari Olivier were held, are now luxurious rooms that guarantee a pleasant stay. The old stairs and cell doors of the prison are all still authentic. This gives the hotel a unique and special atmosphere that can't be compared to anything else.

This luxurious room of almost 30m2 has a lovely double bed and a spacious bathroom with large walk-in shower. The room also offers facilities such as Chromecast, a flat screen television and a Nespresso machine. The hotel has ample parking space.

Alkmaar is, of course, known for the Alkmaar Cheese Market, but the city has much more to offer. Visit for example the Stedelijk museum, the Beatles museum or the cheese museum. A cruise through the canals of Alkmaar is also possible. If you want to get a breath of fresh air and explore the vicinity, it is only a 10-minute drive to the sea and the coastal towns of Schoorl, Bergen aan Zee and Egmond aan Zee.
