Cozy cabin near a swimming lake

Located just thirty meters from a natural swimming lake, you’ll stay in this cozy cabin in a peaceful spot in the heart of Steinwald Nature Park in Bavaria, Germany. Here, you’ll have your own little path leading to your private dock on the water. It’s the ideal place for up to two adults and two children to enjoy a true tiny house experience without sacrificing luxury or comfort. The accommodation is located in Bavaria, near the Czech border.

The Accommodation
The house is entirely on one level and furnished to accommodate up to four people. Inside, the space is cleverly and stylishly laid out with extra storage, a cozy sleeping loft, and a lounge sofa that easily converts into an extra double bed. The bright living area features a Smart TV and a surprisingly well-equipped kitchen, including an induction cooktop, dishwasher, refrigerator with freezer compartment, and an oven. The practical essentials have also been taken care of: the beds are made, soft towels are provided, and in the kitchen you’ll find spices, coffee, tea, and an espresso machine with a milk frother.

The private terrace and naturally landscaped garden offer a wonderfully sheltered spot surrounded by greenery. Thanks to the fully enclosed wooden fence, children can play here safely. When it’s time to cool off, you can walk just a few steps to the private dock to go for a swim or head out onto the lake with the included SUP board.

The Park
The resort itself makes your stay extra comfortable with great on-site amenities, such as its own restaurant serving Bavarian and Spanish snacks, a cozy beach café by the water, and a convenient laundry facility in the main building.

The Surroundings
The park is surrounded by a landscape of ancient volcanoes and rugged nature, free from mass tourism. From the front door, you can walk or bike straight into the woods toward impressive granite cliffs, medieval castle ruins, and an observation tower at nearly 1,000 meters above sea level with a stunning view of the region. A short distance away, you’ll find more unique spots, such as the world’s deepest scientific drilling rig, an interactive museum about volcanoes, and the romantic gorge of the Waldnaab Valley. You can round out the day in a cozy beer garden or a local café in one of the surrounding villages, or take a trip to the nearby shopping town of Weiden, the Fichtelgebirge, or the Czech border.
