Special stay in a thatch igloo

Go to the far north for a special igloo night. Not for a snow igloo, but in the Groningen countryside you will sleep in a real igloo made of straw!

Nostalgic, romantic, fairytale-like, and authentic! That's sleeping in an igloo made of straw. For lovers, engaged couples, married and families. You get to sleep in a big bed made up of a thick bundle of straw. "Won't that straw sting?" No way, because on the straw is a comfortable soft mattress. The straw igloo has a surprising amount of space inside, including a cozy dining area. In the ridge is a glass dome through which you can admire the stars from your bed at night.

Step out of the igloo and you have your own little terrace with a picnic table and summer beach chairs. The igloo is on a farm campsite. The bathroom is located a short distance from the igloo, here you will also find a separate log cabin where you can make coffee/tea and cook. You are provided with all conveniences here. Want to sit together under the stars by a fire? That is certainly possible. The igloo is also suitable as a cabin for people passing through.

Sleeping in the straw igloo in winter, is that even possible? That question is often asked, and the answer is "yes you can." The igloos' round shape makes them strong and stormproof, just like a yurt. The thick wall of straw suits provides very good insulation against cold and wind. Each igloo is equipped with a small stove, which quickly makes it pleasantly warm. Optionally, in winter you can also choose from the options below.
